WITHIN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...
POLITICALLY...
*While "fixing" or ending Social Security still seems to be a strong point on any Republican agenda, historians are quick to point out that former President George W. Bush "borrowed" $1.37 TRILLION DOLLARS of that organization's surplus revenue to cover the expenses of his tax cuts to the rich and the Iraq War, and NEVER paid it back!
*Despite all the "fast track" efforts to get it passed without revealing the contents, the Trans-Pacific Partnership Act failed to get through Congress on its first attempt.
*At least one Congressional Republican has publicly denounced Pope Francis' beliefs on climate control, stating that the Pope does not have the scientific background necessary to claim climate control is real.
As if any Congressional Republican who denies climate change is real possesses the same credentials.
*Within an already crowded field of candidates, Jeb Bush is expected to officially declare his campaign for the 2016 Republican Presidential nomination before the end of June.
*While already an official candidate, Hillary Clinton has formally started her campaign for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nomination.
ELSEWHERE...
*A Caucasian woman in McKinney, Texas called her local police, complaining about "too many blacks" in the community pool. The well video documented incident that followed has gained national attention, resulting in one officer being suspended (who has since resigned) and many questions being raised about local police procedures.
*The on-going drought in California has now been declared the worst in that state's history.
*President Barack Obama has authorized 450 additional troops to train Sunni forces in Iraq.
*Rupert Murdoch will step down as CEO of 21st Century Fox in favor of his son James taking over.
*Amongst the winners of the 2015 Tony Awards on Broadway were The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time winning Best Play, and Fun Home winning Best Musical.
