Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!

It's been a ruff time here at The Free Choice E-Zine while we waited for our esteemed Editor-In-Chief to return from the hospital.

For one thing, he's the only who had a key to the office, let alone knew the computer password!

But Lee's back and in time things will hopefully return to normal around here.

Which would be a vast improvement from how they were before Lee went to the hospital! 😉

In any event myself, Piper D. Katt and the usual Free Choice Staff (Lee, himself, and him) are all happy he's home and on the road to recovery.

Unfortunately I wasn't sure exactly when that would happen, so my presentation this week is just some jokes I've dug up in the past and haven't had a chance to use yet.

But without further adieu...

If humans complain when there is a fly in their soup, do frogs🐸 complain when there isn't one?

If you boil a funny bone, does it becomes laughing stock?

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

THE FREE CHOICE E-ZINE RESUMES OPERATIONS

Dear Free Choice E-zine Readers:

Am home from the local hospital and on the (long) road to recovery.

Despite the odds being much more in my favor for the recently experienced artificial heart valve replacement procedure, compared to the aortic aneurysm back in 2007 that (among other things) implanted the valve that now needed replacing, I won't deny being scared.

This is the third time (besides the two operations above, Congestive Heart Failure back in 2003) that I have come directly face to face with my own mortality.

I will spare you all the personal details, suffice to say that while all three were not events I would have willingly experienced nor looked forward to, they all needed to be faced and dealt with so I am VERY happy to still be among the living!

But while it takes me time to get up and functioning in the morning, as well as dealing with the still consistent post-operation pain from having my chest cut open and my ribs spread apart wide enough for the cardiac surgeon to operate, The Free Choice E-Zine is preparing to resume operations.

October 23 will see the return of both The Puzzle Corner (including the answers to the October 9 edition, the last one published before my hospitalization) and The Week In Review, covering the news of October 17-23, 2021.

Then The Sunday Funnies will resume the next day with the October 24 edition.

This E-zine is basically a one man operation, so I thank everyone for their kindness, understanding, patience and concerns while I was away.

ON MEDICAL LEAVE

Dear Free Choice E-zine Readers:

Afraid I will be away from my computer and this E-zine for awhile as I enter the hospital for another heart operation.

Back in early 2007 I was rushed into the Emergency Room and stayed for almost a month because of an aortic aneurysm.

Part of the procedure was receiving a new heart valve. I've gotten 14 good years out of it but for some reason the part is starting to develop calcium deposits and needs to be replaced with a new and better model before the problem becomes a life threatening situation.

I will be gone roughly a week to ten days.

Then I will be back home on personal recovery for at least 4-6 weeks afterwards in between Doctor's appointments.

Once the pain killers are out of my system and I can sit and think coherently again, I WILL be back at my computer taking care of this E-zine!

You say us cats are inquisitive by nature, and that's certainly true.

Especially in regards to the people we love.

And I've learned a lot watching people, so without further adieu...

When a human claims it wasn't another person's fault, why do they still blame that person anyway?

And to think I'm always told "Don't play with your food!"
