HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THOSE IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA CELEBRATING TODAY!
Friends, family, loved ones.
The fact that they are still alive and able to enjoy all of the above...
Of course the meaning of the Thanksgiving holiday can be at risk or even completely lost within all the Christmas commercialism that has been abound since Halloween, but that is something I will go into more detail on during my "Black" Friday post tomorrow.
In any event, there are other traditions that used to be associated with the holiday, but seem to have fallen by the wayside over the years.
Remember the holidays when TV stations would devote their whole programming to themed reruns or movie marathons because they thought everyone would be ♫Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house♫?
I remember Thanksgiving afternoons when networks would show a couple of hours worth of their Saturday morning cartoons instead of soap operas and game shows.
What about the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Turkey Day marathons, enjoying Joel and the bots heckle movies?
Or that classic episode of WKRP In Cincinnati when trying to give away free turkeys turned into a disaster?
In any event, enjoy the day with those who are most important to you and if you must drink, please do so responsibly.
