THE PUZZLE CORNER: JULY 19, 2014

ADDENDUM
Since posting the answers in the July 5th Puzzle Corner, it has been brought to our attention that there is also SATURDAY Night's Alright (for fighting) by Elton John and SATURDAY's Child by The Monkees, although the latter was never officially released. We have since adjusted the corresponding ANSWERS BOX accordingly.

THE 50/50 CHANCE
This is just like a regular TRIVIA TIME question, only there are just two possible options, hence the even odds of getting the right answer. Ready?

TRUE OR FALSE: There really was a Dr. Pepper behind the famous soft drink?

FAMOUS FIRSTS
In keeping with our summer time theme this week, what WAS the first commercial soft drink offered to the public? Hint: It was already called by the name you know it today.

We'll reveal all next weekend. But for now, let's open up THE ANSWERS BOX and discover the results from our July 12, 2014 Puzzle Corner.

REBUS
The item pictured was (literally) a riding lawn mower.

TRIVIA TIME
Although musical numbers were part of stage and movie productions for decades prior, THE MONKEES are accredited with creating what we know today as the music video.
So enjoy this classic clip of their very first song, courtesy of YouTube, although we have no control over the "watermarks".
