SUNDAY FUNNIES: WEEKEND PUPDATE: JULY 2026

AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR WEEKEND PUPDATE
WITH YOUR HOST KODA CANINE.

Hello Everybody!
I’m Koda Canine, and I woke up this morning. That’s a good start to the day.

Our top story:
The Lego store has come out some brand new sets and supply has yet to keep up with demand as people are lined up for blocks.

8 out of 5 people don't understand fractions.

Historians have discovered that not only did Alexander Graham Bell invent the phone☎ and make the very first call, he also received the first call too.
A couple of minutes after that monumental event, the device rang and when answered, a voice on the other end said: “Hello. We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty."

A new group is advocating for sleeveless shirts, saying they have the right to bare arms.

And now, a word from our sponsor.

Tired of everyone tying up the bathroom?
Wish they would be quicker so you’d get your turn?
Then try some of our new HURRY UP Bathroom Decorations.
Call 555-WEWANTYOUR$
We guarantee the lowest prices in town, no matter how much more you have to pay.

Now, back to what passes for the news.
Marine biologists have determined that the sword fish has few predators in the wild.
Except the pen fish, which is said to be mightier.

Scientists are contemplating crossing an alligator with a homing pigeon, but are afraid the results will come back to bite them.

Now it’s time for my editorial.
How can “Fat Chance” and “Slim Chance” mean the same thing?
I guess the chance’s weight doesn’t matter after all.

And finally:
I’m waiting for somebody to throw me a ball. I look great in a tuxedo.

On that note♫, take care.
STAY SAFE!
Have a great week and please be back next weekend for more Sunday Funnies.
For Weekend Pupdate, I’m Koda Canine.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: DON'T WORRY DAY REDUX, PART 1 of 3

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!
You know, I've been thinking.
No, I don't have a headache now but anyway...

It has gotten to the point where a lot of stuff have their own days now.
March 14 is Pi Day. 03-14. 3.14, you get the idea.๐›‘
Fans of a galaxy far, far away have decided May 4 is Star Wars Day. You know, May the Fourth (Force) Be With You.
Even us Dragons have our own day!๐Ÿ˜
While we're also part of the Chinese Zodiac, January 16 is Appreciate A Dragon๐Ÿ‰ Day, and I hope you plan to celebrate it next year. (hint, hint!)

But, especially with everything going on lately, what about a "Don't Worry, Be Happy Day"?
Sure, The Free Choice E-zine tried establishing this before with no luck, but now...?
We'll still make it the first Sunday of August, since there really isn't anything going on that month except trying to stay safe๐Ÿ˜ท and not overheat in the hot summer๐ŸŒž weather.
Even though I can find it easily enough on YouTube, I don't really have the right to post the Bobby McFerrin song.
Yet I can post some funny, happy jokes so...

Did you hear about the Klingon who wanted to change his hair color?
He thought "Today is a good day to dye." ๐Ÿ˜‰

A wife asked her husband “What is love?”๐Ÿ’•
He replied, “Love is when you steal my chocolate๐Ÿซ every day, but I still hide it in the same place.” AW!

I recently bought a Prince CD for $20, but partied like it was $19.99.๐Ÿ˜€

I was going to tell a joke about a blunt spear, but I didn’t see the point.

The first five florists I called knew nothing about carpet and tile, and suddenly I’m the idiot.

Owning your "weirdness" is usually the key๐Ÿ”‘ to something breathtaking.

Hope you like the funnies.
It was either this theme or try to joke about that {censored} pandemic again!
In any event, take care and please be back again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!wd.

THE SUNDAY FUNNIES: LOCA THE PUG

A salute to a fellow canine
Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
Once again, I've been surfing the Internet and look at what I dug up this time.

Over in Belfast, Ireland there is a cute pug that has become a canine celebrity.

Loca the Pug was born with a condition that does not allow her hind legs to fully cooperate with the rest of her body whenever she tries to run and play with her family and friends. One would think such a situation would have a serious impact upon your life, but that certainly hasn't slowed this lady down.

With the help of her family, Loca has become the star of several videos. She now has her own YouTube page, as well as a growing following on Facebook.

Now sadly, neither I nor The Free Choice E-zine have the licensing budget to post any of those funny and endearing videos featuring Loca and the rest of her friends; but besides the fact I urge you to watch them when you can, you can also read more about Loca in this 2013 article from The Daily Mail.com

This is just another example of how when life hands you lemons, it's time to open a lemonade stand and live your life to the fullest, no matter what others might think.
Title card to debut video, via Google.

Have a great week and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

THE PUZZLE CORNER: JULY 19, 2014

ADDENDUM
Since posting the answers in the July 5th Puzzle Corner, it has been brought to our attention that there is also SATURDAY Night's Alright (for fighting) by Elton John and SATURDAY's Child by The Monkees, although the latter was never officially released. We have since adjusted the corresponding ANSWERS BOX accordingly.

THE 50/50 CHANCE
This is just like a regular TRIVIA TIME question, only there are just two possible options, hence the even odds of getting the right answer. Ready?

TRUE OR FALSE: There really was a Dr. Pepper behind the famous soft drink?

FAMOUS FIRSTS
In keeping with our summer time theme this week, what WAS the first commercial soft drink offered to the public? Hint: It was already called by the name you know it today.

We'll reveal all next weekend. But for now, let's open up THE ANSWERS BOX and discover the results from our July 12, 2014 Puzzle Corner.

REBUS
The item pictured was (literally) a riding lawn mower.

TRIVIA TIME
Although musical numbers were part of stage and movie productions for decades prior, THE MONKEES are accredited with creating what we know today as the music video.
So enjoy this classic clip of their very first song, courtesy of YouTube, although we have no control over the "watermarks".
