MEMORIAL DAY 2016

The following is an editorial.

Today is Memorial Day within the United States of America.
Many just think of this as the (unofficial) start of Summer, although that is technically not until the June Solstice.
In truth, today is set aside to remember the fallen.
Those who gave their lives to defend the rights of freedom, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that we enjoy today.
It is Veterans' Day later this year that has been set aside to honor everyone who has ever served or is currently serving their country.
The holiday has since been (unofficially) expanded to include police officers and fire fighters lost in the line of duty, especially since September 11, 2001.
So as you enjoy your cookouts, TV, family, or even if you're stuck working today; please remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect your rights and freedom.
