A lot of people think cats are aloof.
Personally, I've got to disagree with that, especially considering I AM a cat.
We may not come every time you call, unless it involves food and/or cuddles, but just because we don't answer every individual summons doesn't mean we have no interest or love in you.
Just the opposite.
It isn't always easy being a cat.
Some of us have to work for our meals and housing, usually chasing and eating mice.
I don't know about you, but Vermin ala Mouse is NOT a desirable cuisine as far as I'm concerned.
Granted, some of that processed canned stuff isn't much better, but that's another tail for another time.
The reasons I (or any other cat) usually don’t fit in are
1). I can think for myself.
2). I don’t care what others think of me.
From what I hear, those are some admirable traits in humans, so why not for us felines too?
Some people comment about how often cats sleep.
You usually get a good 8-9 hours in one attempt.
Meow? I'm lucky to get 1 or 2 before the slightest noise or movement wakes me up and I have to investigate.
You never know when it might be something more important than just the refrigerator starting or ending a cycle.
Don’t blame me for something I did ten minutes ago. I’ve changed since then.
After all, you didn't really need to read that horrible headline on the front page of the paper, did you?
That's why I decided to sit on it and your lap and started purring. 😻
I'm much better comfort than some doom and gloom news.
But considering some of the people news I've heard lately, I'm wondering if that old cat adage is true.
You can lead a human to knowledge, but you can’t make them think.
