THE SUNDAY FUNNIES: KODA''S COMEDY CORNER (misc. jokes)

Hello Everybody! Koda Canine here!
It was a beautiful day weather wise outside until sunset, which is why I'm just now taking care of my journalistic responsibilities.
I know. I know. Deadlines should have been honored first but I'm a dog and easily distracted by...

...

...Sorry. Had to chase one of the household cats out of the living room. At the moment one of my people is trying to do her yoga with the DVD player.
Yeah, I know. The DVD player makes a lousy work out partner.
She's watching a yoga video and working along with the prerecorded people in the video.
Part of me thinks she doesn't want to work out to begin with because she keeps saying a lot of words I'm not supposed to know, let alone repeat in public.
Anyway, apparently she doesn't want to work out with me either.
I have absolutely no idea why.
When it comes to yoga I'm great at "downward dog".
Then again, my favorite yoga position is curling up for a nap.

I did eat my dinner before getting online to "talk" to all you wonderful people.
My lady decided to have a large salad for supper while I had a wonderful bowl of beefy dog food because turning vegetarian would be a huge missed steak.

It's supposed to be cloudy and rainy overnight.
Good thing I'm an indoor dog.
If you're inside and you can hear the weather, one has to wonder if you should book passage on the next ark.
And I'd never make it as a sled dog up north.
Even if there was still any snow to pull a sled through, if I'm not the lead dog, forget it!
After all, unless you're the lead dog the view never changes for the rest of the team.
Besides, I have no idea why the human overseeing the team keeps offering it to their dogs but I hate mush.
THIS POST HAS THE CANINE
SEAL OF APPROVAL.

But tonight I won't be able to look out the windows and stargaze later.
Sometimes I look up at what I can see of the stars and I wonder, how much is the universe's electric bill keeping all those lights on?
They are beautiful to look at but are probably like Christmas lights, which I haven't seen as many of each December of late compared to years past because no one wants to deal with that electric bill either.

But is there life out there?
It must be intelligent because they're smart enough not to come here until you humans have all your problems worked out.
Then again, they probably make sure all their spaceship doors are locked and all the windows are closed when they fly past Earth in the first place.
No alien goes to Pluto because it was demoted from planet to planetoid.
Those few extra letters mean it's smaller in size.
"Oh yeah Zerg. I wanted to go on vacation this bleem, but couldn't afford Jupiter so I wound up taking the zurfs to Pluto."
I hear Mercury is a great hotspot. No nightlife because of being so close to the sun though.

But be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
So on that note♫, take care.
STAY SAFE!
Have a great week and please be back next weekend for more Sunday Funnies with guest host Lee Houston, Junior because Piper D. Katt and I will be on our respective annual Labor Day weekend vacations, but we will return the following Sunday to team up for our annual Back To School Salute.—KC.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: "ARE YOU PONDERING WHAT I'M PONDERING?"

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
First, a couple of announcements.
1. Between the pandemic and other factors, our annual Back To School Funnies🏫 have been rescheduled for September 13.
2. Whatever the next post after this one is will be The Free Choice E-zine's 2400th Blogger entry! Barring anything unforeseen between now and then, it will probably be the September 5th Puzzle Corner.
Now then, on with the show...

Truthfully, I haven't done much lately, but I'm glad I still can do that.
The weather has been beautiful over the last few days. A great time to just kick back and relax.
Of course, the people I live with won't let me lay out in the hammock again.
Hey, it's not like I'm going to be stupid enough to do what I did last time I tried to sleep there.
I got hungry and started gnawing on the ropes, not knowing that when they were chewed through too much...
Let's just say, like Humpty Dumpty, I had a (not so great) fall.

Now then, before I begin, I want to make sure this mike is working.
If your name is Michael, please stand up.
(After those in the audience who can comply,) Okay. That concludes this Mike check.
Anyway, since I need to tell some jokes now, let me tell you what I've been pondering lately.

What do you call an ugly dinosaur?
An eyesaur.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that 2020 should be spelled with two bulls' eyes⦾⦾ instead of two zeroes?

I'm seriously considering dedicating my life to finding a cure for insomnia.
If I do decide to take up this cause, I won’t rest until I find it.

Here's an enigma I've yet to figure out the answer to.
What if there were no hypothetical questions?

How come everyone accepts the phrase "Have A Nice Day" but grow worried if you say "Have A Nice 24 Hours"?

Considering how things have gone so far this year, have any of you bothered to look up that person who said, "The only way I'd ever be interested in you is if the world is coming to an end."

And now, in honor of one of my favorite animated series that will soon be revived (if you have the correct streaming service to see it)...
"Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
"I think so, but you shouldn't use big words when singularly unloquacious and diminutive linguistic expressions will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity."😮

So on that note♫, have a great week everybody. STAY SAFE! 😷 And please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: COUNTERING PROVERBS

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon, so I'm just lazing around my doghouse seeing what I can dig up for this post.
Now, we all know that a proverb is basically a saying. Usually one so old that nobody remembers the origin of it.
But have you ever noticed that there are times when two different proverbs seem to contradict each other?
For example...

Actions speak louder than words VERSUS The pen is mightier than the sword.
From time to time we're all faced with choices and indecision. I guess whoever wrote these proverbs decided to cover all the bases.

Look before you leap VERSUS He who hesitates is lost.
Now, if you're hesitating about jumping over the Grand Canyon, that may not be a bad thing. If you're hesitating about jumping into the pool because you're afraid of getting your new swimsuit wet...

Many hands make light work VERSUS Too many cooks spoil the broth.
If everyone is following the same recipe, and you're keeping good track of what's been done so far, does it matter how many cooks are involved?

Clothes make the man VERSUS Don't judge a book by its cover.
I've yet to see a book attempt to wear clothing or a human attempt to wear a dust jacket, but those cheap paper gowns the medical profession expects patients to wear certainly blur the line.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained VERSUS Better safe than sorry.
I guess whoever wrote these wanted to cash in on the Actions speak louder than words VERSUS The pen is mightier than the sword craze.

The bigger, the better VERSUS The best things come in small packages.
Either way, something tells me you are not going to like the present.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder VERSUS Out of sight, out of mind.
This all depends upon who the missing person in question is.

The more, the merrier VERSUS Two's company, three's a crowd.
Wouldn't that depend upon what kind of party you're trying to throw?

What will be will be VERSUS Life is what you make it.
Que Sera Sera. Take it Doris!

Have a great week everybody and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.
