THE PUZZLE CORNER: MARCH 13, 2021

๐Ÿ˜ŽFUN FACT
Elvis Luciano of the Toronto Blue Jays was the first Millennial to play baseball⚾ professionally.

NUMBER PLEASE
Get ready! We ask the question, but the answer is just a number.
How many of his movies did James Dean actually see released in his lifetime?

RHYME TIME⌛
The clue to something is below, but no matter how long your answer is, each word within it must rhyme. Ready?
The (in)famous Hughes Aircraft.

We’ll reveal all next weekend but for now, let’s open up THE ANSWERS BOX๐Ÿ“ฆ and discover the results from the March 6, 2021 Puzzle Corner.

FAMOUS FIRSTS๐Ÿฅ‡
March 10 was the 145TH anniversary of Alexander Graham Bell inventing the telephone. What was the first message ever heard over a telephone?๐Ÿ•ฟ
“Mr. Watson, come here. I want you.”—Alexander Graham Bell.

THE 50/50 CHANCE
Just like a regular TRIVIA TIME question, except there are just two possible answers, hence the even odds of getting it right. Ready?
TRUE or FALSE: The famous line “Beam me up Scotty,” was said during a Star Trek: The Original Series episode.
FALSE! While “Beam me up” sounds a lot better than “Transport”, the closest anyone ever came to that classic phrase was Captain Kirk requesting “Beam me up Mister Scott.”

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2021

 The following is an editorial.

Today is International Women's Day.
Out of all the various social groups in existence, women are at least one of, if not THE worst treated in all of history.
They've been belittled, their importance downplayed and regulated to little more than wife and homemaker in centuries past.

Even when they could finally, officially enter the job market (and those who think being a wife and/or homemaker are not work are seriously wrong!), they have been payed less for doing the same job as a male counterpart, who usually took credit for the lady's accomplishments and got the promotions long before she might have ever been considered a possibility.
While there have been some noticeable improvements since the 1970s, there is still a LONG way to go both here in the United States and around the world, especially to recover the ground lost during the 45th American "President's" administration and to overcome the stigma of some places where women are still considered nothing but a commodity to be bought, sold and used!

In any event, we at The Free Choice E-zine wish ALL women well.

The above was an editorial.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: CATTING AROUND (misc. jokes)

Hello Everybody! Piper D. Katt here!
I'm just chillin' between naps and want to entertain you with some well chosen jokes.
Ready?

What does a cat say after making a joke?
“Just Kitten.”

Did you know that Bigfoot is sometimes confused with Sasquatch?
Yeti never complains.

Exercise wise I’m not very good at push-ups and pull-ups, but I'm an expert at yawns, long stretches, and mess-ups!

Did you hear about the guy who, tired of saying the brand name, reprogrammed his voice activated Smart System to respond to the name “COMPUTER”?
Things were going well until he watched STAR TREK and half way through the episode, his house started firing photon torpedoes!
Now what I want to know is, how much did that upgrade cost to begin with?๐Ÿ˜‰

If you find it too cold, go stand in a corner. They're usually 90 degrees.

They say you learn from your mistakes. That's why I'm making as many as I can to be a genius.

Are some people really birds in disguise?
You think I'm dumb asking that question?
Then explain Twitter to me!

Records and Cassette Tapes had an “A” side and a “B” side, so it was logical for their successor to be the “CD.”
But if I have to explain what Records and Cassette Tapes were...

Did you hear about the man who had to quit his construction job because he wasn't strong enough?
He turned in his too weak notice.

And on that note♫, before I go, I've been asked to let everyone know that next weekend Autumn the Puppy will be here celebrating PI ๐›‘ Day since next Sunday is March 14 (3.14).
Hmm... I wonder if my favorite—Catnip Meringue—is on the menu?

In any event, have a good week.
Take care.
STAY SAFE!๐Ÿ˜ท
And please be back next time for more Sunday Funnies!—PDK.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: WHATEVER... (misc. jokes)

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
Not much of a day in my neighborhood weather wise, so I'm staying in where it's nice, warm and dry. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Truthfully, it's just a BLAH Day and I’m feeling super lazy today.
That is like normal lazy, but with a cape.
But the jokes are seriously piling up around the corner where I keep my doggie bed, also known as the living room couch, so I'm just going to start telling some of these as yet unused gems and see which ones shine brightly and which ones turn out to be only zircon. Ready?

I got up at 5AM, ran 16 miles and did 100 sit ups before doing 50 push ups. Then I fixed myself a vegetable smoothie for breakfast. Thankfully I don’t remember the rest of that nightmare.

Are you as bored as I am?
Now read that backwards and it will still make sense.

Good bakers use real butter, so there is no margarine for error.

I wonder how many calories are burned by jumping to conclusions?

She was always smiling from the way he made her feel.
He was hot, dark, and steamy.
He made her life have meaning.
She couldn’t live without him and she didn’t want to.
Then again, I always thought her relationship with that Mister Coffee machine was odd.๐Ÿ˜‰

STEAM PUNK is what happened when GOTH discovered the color brown.

Now don’t forget to drink a lot of water and get some sun.๐ŸŒž
Humans are basically house plants with complicated emotions.

So on that note♫ take care.
Have a good week.
STAY SAFE!๐Ÿ˜ท
And please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.
