Looks like someone there is also a Calvin and Hobbes fan.😉

And now, a word from our sponsor.
Before doing so, be sure to ask your doctor if taking unsolicited medical advice from commercials is right for you.

As we return, I’ve just been handed ground breaking news!
A hole was dug to plant a bone🦴, but the canine excavator🐕 won’t say where it is.
Dang it, and I’m hungry.

It takes three sheep🐑🐑🐑 to make a wool sweater.
Gee. I didn’t know they could knit.

Turning to sports, here’s the current scores as professional football’s🏈 regular season comes towards an end as the playoffs approach.
35-14. 27-8 and in a game just now getting underway: 0-0.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: JUST LITTLE OL' ME...

A curious baby dragon!
Hello Everybody. Waxy Dragon here with the first Sunday Funnies of the NEW year!

Of course, right now I don’t see what’s so new about this year other than the date because so far it looks just like the start of last year to me.
The sky’s are gray☁ and even the day is cold.
Why does winter have to last so long, anyway?

But, being quite an inquisitive (and I looked that word up, so I know I'm using it right!) baby dragon, those aren’t the only questions I have. Like…

How come you only get a happy ending if you play a country music song sdrawkcab?

What do people mean when they ask, “Can you see what I’m saying?”
Am I supposed to be listening with my eye teeth🦷 or what?

When someone says they’ve “souped up” a machine, what kind did they use?
I’m partial to chicken🐔 noodle myself!

Just what does a turkey🦃 have to be thankful for on Thanksgiving?
I guess if it’s one of the lucky ones that isn’t invited to dinner...

What happens to an ice carving after it melts?

I wonder what Internet service providers do to waste their time?

Do you know what actually makes me smile?😀
Facial muscles!

Now to make you smile.
Aren’t you glad this is my last question?

And on that note, have a great week everybody and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

THE PUZZLE CORNER: JANUARY 5, 2019

😎FUN FACT
It’s 2019 and a new year is upon us. Let’s party!🎉

FAMOUS FIRSTS
WHO was the first super heroine to have her own weekly television series???

THE LETTER SHUFFLE
How many new words can you spell out of the letters in NEW YEAR???

We’ll reveal all next weekend, but for now, let’s open up THE ANSWERS BOX📦 and discover the results from the December 29, 2018 Puzzle Corner.

WHAT’S THAT SONG?
Words from a tune of the past are below. All you have to do is give us the song title. Ready?

♫And a Happy New Year. Let’s hope it’s a good one, without any fear♫
“Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, with The Plastic Ono Band and The Harlem Community Choir.

NUMBER PLEASE
Get ready! We ask the question, but the answer is just a number.

In the full length version of The Monkees’ ♫Daydream Believer♫, what answer did Davy Jones receive when he asked, “What number is this Jim?”
7.
But then, not quite hearing the answer, he repeated the question, making the follow up response 7A.

THE SUNDAY FUNNIES: A WORD BY ANY OTHER TERM...

Hello Everybody, Autumn the Puppy here welcoming
you to the first Sunday Funnies post of the New Year.

Funny, so far this year looks just like last year to me.

Anyway, I've been thinking about how to kick off 2014, so let us start by dusting off and hopefully getting rid of one of my pet peeves, misused words.

William Shakespeare observed that a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet, but using a word incorrectly throws everything off. To wit, this poem that has been making the rounds on the Internet:

Other examples include the fact that it is still sheep, no matter how many there are. The same with deer, although someone can be quite dear to you while it is possible to have multiple dears in your lifetime. Of course everyone is hoping the buck stops here, because their respective wallets are pretty empty.

Most books have an index, but two of them are not indices.
You can make amends, but you cannot make just one amend.
If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one, what do you call that?

There's plenty more where that came from, but I think I'll save them for another time. I have to go lie down for a while, unless you want me to say something untrue, because that is a lie too.

In any event, have a great week everybody and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!--AtP.
