*Major League Baseball player Tony Gwynn, who spent his entire career with the San Diego Padres (1982-2001) has left us after his battle with cancer.

*President Barack Obama wants to expand the Pacific Remote Islands, Marine National Monument.
*Martin Kaymer of Germany won the 2014 U.S. Open of professional golf.
*The San Antonio Spurs beat the Miami Heat to win the 2014 NBA Finals Championship of professional basketball.
