SUNDAY FUNNIES: CATTY CELEBRITY CITINGS: APRIL 2026

Hello Everybody! Piper D. Katt here!
For those who came in late, as usual a real quote from an actual celebrity or otherwise famous person will be followed by something (hopefully) witty from meow.
Ready?

"There are three kinds of people in this world. The ones that learn from reading. The few that learn from observation and the rest that have to touch an electric fence for themselves to realize what it is."~~Will Rogers, vaudeville performer, actor and humorous social commentator.
I used to wonder about the people who paid a fortune for those little bottles of Evian Water, until I read the name backwards.

"Avoid negative people. They have a problem for every solution." ~~ Albert Einstein, famous scientist and certified genius.
And to those same people I say: If at first you don't succeed, cry, cry again.

"I thought I'd begin by reading a poem by William Shakespeare, but then I thought, why should I? He never reads any of mine."~~Comedian Spike Mulligan.
Could it be because Shakespeare passed away long before you were even born?

"If all you have is a hammer toe, everything looks like a toe nail."~~Actor Robert Downy Junior.

Your silence may be misinterpreted, but it will never be misquoted.

"You pray for rain, you must deal with the mud for that is a part of it."~~Actor Denzel Washington.
While some people don't like to get their shoes dirty, I've never heard the pigs🐖🐷 complain about mud.

"I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it."~~Artist Vincent Van Gogh.
Considering all the beautiful paintings you created in your lifetime, you certainly succeeded Vincent!

"I always wanted to go to Switzerland and see what the army does with those little knives."~~Comedic Actor Billy Connolly.
I would assume they pair them with the forks and spoons to eat their meals with. But if I ever meet anyone from Switzerland or MacGyver, I've got to find out how they clean those Swiss Army Knives afterwards.

"Freedom is the right to say no."~~Famous author George Orwell, most noted for 1984.
And above all, NO MEANS NO!

So on that note♫, take care everybody.
STAY SAFE!
Have a great week and please be back next weekend when we have something special planned for the next Sunday Funnies!—PDK.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: WINGIN' IT DURING THE PANDEMIC

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!
How's everyone doing? Hanging in there?😷
Well, even though it's our weekly job to begin with, Autumn the Puppy and I have certainly been doing our best to entertain you since the pandemic started and everyone found themselves ♫Under Pressure♫.
Even the Easter Bunny got into the act during his annual appearance this year!
Now we all know from first hand experience how tough self-isolation can be, but you have to admit that being alive sure beats the alternative!
Waxy's drawing of Bubblehead
I'm staying home and safe with Bubblehead, the human I'm stuck live with.
We don't always agree on everything, like him not giving me enough Belgosian Dark Chocolate🍫 and insisting that I still have to take baths and do my homework, even though Dragon🐲 School is being held strictly over the Internet right now, but I do know he loves and cares for me like any parent would their child.

Yet if it's one thing being a member of the Sunday Funnies crew has taught me, it's how to serve lemonade🍵 when life hands you lemons🍋, so...

Depending upon your opponent, playing Battleship 🛳 is hit or miss.

Quarantine, Day 1: I have enough food to last me six weeks.
Quarantine, Day 2: I have eaten all my food, including my three month supply of toilet paper.🧻

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients.

I don't know what they'll be able to do for it this year but Shark Week🦈 used to be the safest time to go to the beach because all the sharks were on TV.📺
Of course, considering even the beaches are closed right now...

I wonder if clouds⛅ look down on us and say things like, "Hey, that one looks like an idiot."

I accidentally paid for my groceries with my library card.
My macaroni and cheese is due back Friday.😟

I've been doing a lot of arts and crafts lately and have discovered that Glitter is just sand that majored in Musical Theater.

Don't you wish Monopoly was real? Then you could own everything, provided you actually know where Mediterranean Avenue and all those other properties really are in the world.🌍
Or at least be owed various rents and able to collect $200 every time you passed 'Go'.😉

And on that note♫, STAY HOME. STAY SAFE, and STAY HEALTHY!
Take care and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: SPRING SITINGS (celebrity quotes)

Hello Everybody. Autumn the Puppy here.

Despite what the weather is like in some parts of the world right now, it IS Spring.
That magical season when a young man's mind turns to thoughts of love, and baseball.
Why they won't let me out on the field when they're playing is beyond me. It may be a little wet and
chewy afterwards, but I do promise to give them the baseball back afterwards.

In any event, since I have yet to post any celebrity quotes for April, let's look at how other people feel about Spring.
As usual, my comments appear afterward.

Mahler, circa 1907
"Spring won't let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again."
Gustav Mahler—Famous composer (1860-1911)
I know what you mean Sir. I want to go out and about too, but I can't leave the house without somebody being at the other end of my leash.
Emerson, 1857

"Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Ralph Waldo Emerson—Famous writer (1803-1882)
I would love to travel Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken". Unfortunately, he never left a map of the trail behind.

Williams, circa 2007
"Spring is nature's way of saying: Let's Party!"
Robin Williams—Entertainer (1951-2014)
That might be true. Unfortunately, Spring is late weather wise this year, and it always forgets to bring the dog treats!

Henry Van Dyke
"The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month!"
Henry Van Dyke—Author (1852-1933)
Can't it book an earlier flight? Or at least get here on time for once?

"Spring is when you feel like whistling, even with a shoe full of slush."
Doug Larson—Famous columnist (born in 1926)

Well, I obviously don't wear shoes, but I do hate getting mud between my toes and in my fur, especially when it isn't even the warm stuff they use at the spa.

Well folks, that's all the time we have for now. I hope everyone has a great week, the weather improves soon, and that you'll be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.
