SUNDAY FUNNIES: A PURR-FECTLY GOOD AFTERNOON

Hello Everybody! Piper D. Katt here and, depending upon where you are at the moment it's a beautiful day outside, which is a far cry from what some folks experience at this point in November.
The sun is shining. What birds are still in the area are singing, although most of them have already gone south for the winter.
Hmmm... I wonder if they're eligible for Frequent Flyer Miles?

In any event, it's a beautiful but lazy day. I'm enjoying a warm sunny spot on the window sill and my mind is wondering over the questions of life, the universe, and when's supper?
Such as...

According to all those commercials on television, 4 out of 5 humans suffer from something. Does that mean the fifth person actually enjoys whatever ailment they have?

If the #2 pencil is the most popular, then why is it still #2?

Why do people press the buttons on a battery operated whatever harder when they know it's time to change the batteries?
Are they trying to get one last spark out of them or something?

Why are performers "in" a movie but "on" TV?
Of course, I try to sleep on top of the TV, cable box, or DVD player and all I get is yelled at.

Why do weather forecasters always say "It's partly cloudy"?⛅
Wouldn't "Partly Sunny" ⛅be more accurate?

Do you think that out of all the inventions in the world, that the Dry Erase Board is the most remarkable?

And on that note♫ have a good week.
STAY SAFE!😷
And please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—PDK.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: COPING WITH COVID-19

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!

😷Not to get political or climb upon any other soap boxes today, but we've all been fighting this {censored} pandemic for quite a while now as it is.
Some places are obviously faring better than others dealing with it at the moment, but let's face facts.

This is a VERY SERIOUS matter that has to be faced head on and dealt with rationally.

After all, there are several instances of conflicting businesses such as casinos and churches being closed during this health crisis.
So when both Heaven😇 AND Hell😈 agree...

Yet this IS The Sunday Funnies and I AM supposed to entertain you all for awhile, so...

In the super markets they put an X on the floor to tell us where to stand in line for checkout.
"Ha!" exclaimed one guy. "I’ve seen too many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that."

The way 2020 is going right now, the only thing we're really lacking at the moment is Godzilla!

I've had my patience tested. I’m negative.

Let's see now.
The bills are washed.
The laundry is paid.
The clothes are in the oven and the last load of dinner is in the dryer.
Who says I can't multitask when stressed?

There are those who think Quarantine is an inside joke.
The joke's on you if you don't protect yourself!
But criminals must be having a lot of fun with Quarantine conditions right now.
They can lay low till the heat dies down and no one is suspicious.

The auto industry has some serious competition at the moment.
The most expensive vehicle on earth right now isn't anything they make.
It's the shopping cart.

Here's what I find ironic.
If anyone made an 8 hour movie, no one would watch it because it was too long.
Yet if you take that same movie and break it down into 8 episodes, people will stream it straight through from beginning to end!

In hindsight, fencing is the perfect COVID-19 sport.
You wear masks and gloves along with other protective gear and you can't risk getting within six feet of your opponent.

All the doctors, nurses, epidemiologists, immunologists, and other researchers keep saying that COVID-19 is dangerous.
On the other hand, all those people who barely passed high school science say it's not.
Guess who's right? (Hint: It's NOT the second option! 😉)

This should be blatantly obvious, but to make it official.
Drinking bug spray does NOT 💀 protect you from Murder Hornets!

And on that note♫, try to have a good week. STAY SAFE! And please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: THE PANDEMIC PAUSE CONTINUES

Waxy, a dragon
Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!
I'm sure you're as unhappy with the Pandemic Pause as I am, but for the time being I will continue to only do inside jokes.
My condolences to those in quarantine with a loud person.
You thought dogs were hard to train?
Look at all the humans that can’t sit and stay.
Some places have tried various attempts at reopening, with the only real accomplishment being to create more cases.😷

I may be just a baby companion dragon, but I do understand and can relate to the concepts of being cooped up and stressed out, which is why Autumn the Puppy and I are trying to do the best we can to entertain you folks every Sunday as usual.
Yet stop and ask yourselves this:
What do you want more? Your health or whatever it is you wanted to buy from whatever business is closed right now?😒

Waxy's drawing of "Bubblehead".
It's not easy for us kids either.
For example, believe it or not I miss Dragon School. I still learn new things online at home but it isn't quite the same as being there, hanging out with my friends, and all the other stuff associated with what comprises my social life.

But mostly I'm worried about "Bubblehead", my nickname for the human I'm stuck live with.
He told me the other day "I’m coming out of quarantine either 100 pounds heavier or 50 pounds lighter."
Considering I still haven't found where he's hiding the Belgosian Dark Chocolate🍫, I think we'll both be a little lighter when all this is over.

He ran out of toilet paper and started using lettuce leaves.
Today was the tip of the iceberg.

Bubblehead does go grocery shopping hunting at least once a week.
He gets up before the crack of dawn to be in line at the store when they open.
I'm just now getting up for the day when he gets home, but I still love him.
I help him put all the food away, and eat it too.😉

Life may be on hold, but you ARE still alive!
I'm not exactly sure what Bubblehead does for a living but he's been working from home a lot since this all began.
Then again, sometimes he complains about having to work at work, so I don't think I'll ever completely understand humans.
I will admit that it's a little uncomfortable having him constantly underfoot paw, but at least I know he's safe.💖

Occasionally I wonder if he'll ever go out and find himself a "Mrs. Bubblehead".
I can just picture the personal ad now...
"Single man with toilet paper would like to meet single woman with hand sanitizer for some good clean fun."

There was an interesting ad in the personals (hey, when you've read the whole paper, what else is left?) the other day. It said:
Dear Life:
When I asked “Can this get any worse?” That was a rhetorical question, not a challenge.

I know things will get better in time. Hopefully everyone will be patient enough for it to do so.
Meanwhile, may your troubles be less and your blessings more and may nothing but happiness come through your door.
Take care. Have a great week. STAY SAFE! And please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
My people went to the grocery store today and brought back a whole lot of good smelling food not only for the days ahead, but they stocked up in case of any potential winter storms on the horizon.
Not that we actually want any, but better safe than sorry.
Anyway, among all the goodies they bought were several cans of dog food.
Now truthfully, I had to stop and think about this for a bit.
On one paw🐾, I certainly want to eat regularly just like anyone else, although I'd buy it by the case if possible, but why always DOG🐶 food?
On Autumn's wish list that she can't have.
Okay, I know what I am and love being a canine, but why couldn't they buy me a nice juicy steak, or some grilled salmon🐟 once in a while?
I know some people food isn't good for us canines and I respect that. After all, I have yet to see one of the people who take care of me eating any of my food, but still...
Yes, I know all about the economy and other factors both here and abroad, but this is The Sunday Funnies, not Political Forum.
Anyway, if you haven't guessed where all of this is leading to by now...

The grocery list said "6 Pack of Sprite" but the shopper accidentally picked 7 up.

This is udderly ridiculous!
Have you noticed how most grocery stores play music while you shop?
I thought about getting some Spring Onions while a Bee Gees tune was on but it was just the Chives Talking. 😉

Did you know that D.I.E.T. stands for “Did I eat that?”
Of course, any swine🐷 would happily reply, "I sure did!"

The best ice cream makers go to Sundae🍨 School.

A wife wanted to make sure her husband got everything they needed when he went to the grocery store so she gave him a VERY detailed, itemized list of what to get.
When he came back, she asked "Why so much?" so he showed her the
list. He came home with
1 bag of sugar
2 egg plants
3 dozen eggs 🥚
4 cans of tomatoes 🍅
5 cans of beans and
6 red peppers.🌶

Have you ever been stalked in a corn maze?

Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers.
What mistakes you make today might burn your butt tomorrow.

And on that note♫, have a great week everybody and please join me and Waxy Dragon next weekend for our annual Christmas🎄 Party on The Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!

You know, the only trouble with retirement is you never get a day off. I mean, take my life for instance.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm a dog.🐕
Have been since birth. Am one now. Will be one until the day I die, which is hopefully a LONG way off from now.
But have you ever wondered what life might be like if things were different?
Sure you have. It's that way for everybody with any kind of conscious thought.
The news certainly doesn't help.
That's why Waxy Dragon and I are here. To try and cheer everyone up for at least a little while.
The world doesn't just need more love.
SMILE! 😀 And play me!
It needs more comedy too!
Ready to have some fun?

What are the strongest days of the week?
Saturday and Sunday. The others are week days.

Rest in peace boiled water. You will be mist.😉

Well, that's all the time and space in relative dimensions I have for today. Where's a TARDIS when you really need one?
Hope you had fun. Try the 6 links, and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: SHOES AND SOCKS IT TO ME!

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!
Now, as a baby dragon, I'm learning a lot in Dragon School, but we came across a subject the other day that I'm still scratching my head over in disbelief.

Shoes and socks.

Now, I get the basic idea of why humans do wear these things, and if you need them, well—I won't stop you from wearing them, but I just don't understand them.

First off, why do you call it SHOES👞👟 and socks?
Is it an alphabetical thing?
Is it because the shoes are more prominent, since they cover the socks.
Then again, the name can't be based upon what goes on first, because then it would be SOCKS and shoes.
After all, you do put the socks on first, and then the shoes, right?
It would look mighty funny if you put the shoes on your feet first and then tried to put the socks on over them.

Now, some people only wear half of the team at any given moment.
I've seen people walking around sockless while wearing shoes, claiming it helps their feet breathe better.
But I seriously doubt it makes the inside of the shoes any better, being directly against your bare feet.
And if you want your feet to breathe, why put them in shoes to begin with?

I've seen people walking around with just socks on, saying that the shoes hurt their feet.
If that's the case, why don't you buy a better pair of shoes?

Plus, there's all types of shoes to begin with!
Different colors I understand.
After all, who doesn't like variety?
Different shoes between men, women, and children I also get, but the rest...
Sneakers. What are they being so secretive about?
Winged Tips. Why? They can't fly, can they?
Loafers I at least understand. After all, when you want to rest... but why do you need a special pair of shoes just to do that?

And the cost!
They're just shoes!
You're wearing them on your feet, not putting them on display in some museum as fine art.🎨🖼
Considering some of the price tags I've seen for shoes, I'm surprised they don't do the walking for you.

Socks are much different, since there isn't that many varieties involved once you start thinking about the needs of men, women, and children.
Maybe that's why socks get second billing in the team name.
Then again, the red ones play great baseball in Boston! 😀

Anyway, like I said before, I'm just a baby dragon.
The teacher trying to explain everything about shoes and socks gave me a headache then, and trying to talk about them with you folks now has given me another one, so I think I'm going to go lie down for a while.

Take care, have a great week, and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: TIMELY JOKES

Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
First and foremost, I hope everyone in America remembered to set their clocks back one hour, since Daylight Saving Time ended today.
After all, you certainly don't want to be an hour late to wherever you have to be next, do you?😉
Yeah, I can imagine a lot of kids commenting about school and a lot of adults replying about work right now, but the question was rhetorical.
And it isn't my fault if you haven't studied rhetoricals (yet).
"Too much time on my hands?"

Anyway, in keeping with the moment...

What time is it when the clock strikes 13?
Time to get the clock fixed!

I know there is such a thing as a grandfather's clock, but what happened to the grandmother's clock, let alone the rest of the Clock family?

Would a clock not inside anything be a time out?

Is a tense clock all wound up?
♫Rock Around The Clock♫

Is an annoyed clock ticked off?

What did the second hand say to the hour hand when it passed by?
"See you in a minute."

Why did the clock's pendulum stop moving?
It lost its swing.

Why did the man sit on his wristwatch?⌚
He wanted to be on time.

Do ducks wake up at the quack of dawn?⏰

If a clock is still hungry after the meal, does it go back four seconds?
And on that note♫, have a great week everybody and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: FALL FUNNIES

It's "my" season!
Hello Everybody!
Autumn the Puppy here, coming at you at the beginning of Fall, or Autumn if you prefer. 😉
A lot of good things happen in the fall.🍂
The new TV season starts. Baseball prepares to enter the playoffs, although some people are enjoying the start of football season as well as looking forward to the beginnings of basketball and hockey, but let's face it.
Autumn is also that special time of year when the leaves begin to change color before they leave the trees and you're hopefully no longer able to cook your meals on a hot sidewalk after a long and grueling summer.
So with that in mind, here's some nice autumnal jokes from yours truly.

If money💲💰 really did grow on trees🌳, fall would be everyone’s favorite season.

Why do birds🐦 fly south in the fall?
Because it’s too far to walk.

Yes, I'm a pink elephant. Does my color matter?
Why did Humpty Dumpty have a great fall?
To make up for a lousy summer.

What did the tree say to the new fall season?
Leaf me alone.

How does an elephant🐘 get out of a tree🌳?
It sits on a leaf and waits for autumn.
But what I'm wondering is: how did the elephant🐘 get up that tree to begin with?

What is the best direction for leaves to fall?
Down, especially if they don't land in your yard.

What did one autumn leaf say to the other?
I’m falling for you.

What is the cutest season of the year?
Awwwtumn.

Thanks everybody. Have a great week and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies.—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: BOTHERING BUBBLEHEAD

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here.
Now, for those who don't know, I am a baby companion dragon who lives with a human guardian I call Bubblehead, because...
Well...
Just because sometimes I think he's totally out of tune with the needs of a dragon like me.
Granted, my needs aren't much.
Belgosian Dark Chocolate. A nice, safe place to live. Belgosian Dark Chocolate. Someone to talk to. Belgosian Dark Chocolate. Plenty of coloring books and crayons.
Did I mention Belgosian Dark Chocolate already???

Anyway, just like any parent-child relationship, sometimes we don't get along as well as we should.
The other day Bubblehead wanted me to clean my room.
I love the way my room looks. After all, I'm the one who lives in it, right?
But Bubblehead was looking around complaining about all the mess when I see lovely piles of toys, empty Belgosian Dark Chocolate wrappers that need to be refilled, and a whole lot of other neat stuff.
Then Bubblehead asks me what that ugly blue stain is on the otherwise beautiful brown carpeting of my bedroom.😕
I stared at the rug, trying to figure out what that blue stain was too.😧
Then I finally remembered.
Blue was the carpet's original color!😲

Okay. So, maybe I'm not perfect. What kid is?
Then again, Bubblehead isn't perfect either.

For example, he makes a lousy alarm clock.⏰
You tell him that you need to get up at 7. He'll wake you up at 6 and tells you it's 8.

Once I had to ask Bubblehead for new batteries because the television's remote control wasn't working.
He started bragging that he used to have to walk to the TV set just to change the channel.
What kind of barbaric, primitive society did he live in???

Then again, Bubblehead doesn't have a bad singing voice, even if he usually gets the words wrong.
The other day while he was cooking breakfast, I had to listen to Bubblehead sing ♫Don't go bacon my heart. I couldn't if I fried.♫

Bubblehead tried working for a newspaper once, but it folded.
He tried working for a scissors manufacturer but couldn't cut it.
Bubblehead once tried helping out on a dairy farm but made an udder disgrace of himself.

But when I stop and think about it, you can't always pick out your family in advance, but I lucked out into a good one.
Bubblehead does love💓 me and looks out for me too.
Even if he doesn't buy me Belgosian Dark Chocolate as often as I'd like him to.😉

In any event, take care and have a great week everybody, and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: THIS AND THAT (misc. jokes)

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Butter.
Butter who?
♫You butter watch out, you butter not cry,  you butter not pout, I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town.♫

The annual Christmas team up between me and Autumn the Puppy is coming soon, but that doesn't mean I don't have plenty of jokes to share with you in the meantime. Ready?

My friend has black hair and her initials are PM and her boyfriend has blond hair and his initials are AM. They are as different as night and day.

Here is a mathematical trick. Take your age. Add five to it.
That is how old you will be in five years!

The police detective was questioning a chicken suspected of fowl play. "Which came first, you or the egg? Why does everything taste like you? Why did you cross the road? Why can't you say what is on the other side of that road?"
"Wait a second!" squawked the chicken. "What are you trying to do?"
"I'm grilling you," replied the detective.

My friend David had his ID stolen the other day.
Now we just call him Dav.

Robber, holding up a store: "Give me all your cash or you're geography."
Cashier: "Don't you mean history?"
Robber: "Don't change the subject."

And on that note♫, I hope everyone has a good week.
Don't let the over hypeness of the season get to you, and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies.—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: LEGAL LAUGHS

"Raise your right paw."
Hello Everybody! Autumn the Puppy here!
In Henry VI, Part II, during Scene 2 of the fourth act, William Shakespeare had Dick the Butcher say, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.''
Now of course, the character was referring to the unethical ones involved within the play's events.
Like any profession, you have to take the bad ones with the good.
Yet for every Perry Mason or Rafael Barba, there is an attorney not as bright, but they do provide great comedic moments.
I submit the following as proof to the court of laughs...

Attorney: "The youngest son. The 20 year old. How old is he?"
Witness: "Don't you know?"

Attorney: "What's your current marital status?"
Man: "I'm a widower."
Attorney: "Who died?"

Attorney: "Didn't you say the murder victim was shot in the woods?"
Coroner: "No, I said he was shot in the lumbar region."
Of course, the court room scenes of Airplane 2! The Sequel! are quite funny too.

Attorney: "Any theories as to why this isn't a murder trial?"
Witness: "Because I'm still alive."

Attorney: "You were there until you left, correct?"
This one ranks right up there with the Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck routine "This week was next week last week."

And on that note♫, have a great week everybody and we'll see each other again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000(?) LAUGHS

Hey Everybody! It's another holiday weekend here in the United States, so once again the ladies have the time off, which is ironic since it's the Labor Day weekend and not as many workers get the holiday off now than they used to.
Anyway, Free Choice E-zine Editor-In-Chief Lee Houston, Junior here with some more funny pictures to share, so let's get right to it.

Then why post the sign to begin with???

The above was outside a local deli.
Now, despite the fact that I've already had lunch, I'm hungry again, dang it!

The above is a sign of summers' past...

Don't worry. The above sign was confusing to me too. Thankfully, the police officer on duty at that corner wasn't sure what to do either. 😉

I wouldn't be surprised to see this sign at either your local spaceport or at the airport in Roswell, New Mexico, but actually it was outside the entrance to the restrooms at a science fiction convention, showing that someone there had a sense of humor.

And on that note, have a great week everyone and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies when Autumn the Puppy and Waxy Dragon team up for our annual Back To School Special.

Until then, take care.... lh,jr.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: SUMMER PUN LESSONS

Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!

It's summertime. A magical season when kids are out of school and finally get to be kids again, at least for a while; parents continue to worry about their children, and can't wait for them to be back in school again.

I know Bubblehead always worries about me. After all, who can you get to "babysit" a companion dragon when you're at work???

Anyway, some parents also worry that during the summer their children will forget everything they've learned in school the previous year.
NOT ME!
My brain is like the Bermuda Triangle. Knowledge goes in, never to be seen again.

After all, did you know that the best hollandaise sauce can be found in Nome, Alaska?
Why?
That's because ♫there's no place like Nome for the hollandaise.♫

Go ahead. Quiz me.
♫Are you ready to rock?♫

What do you get when you cross a stream and a brook?
Wet feet.

What do you call a song sung by an automobile?
A cartoon.

What rock group won't sing?
Mount Rushmore.

See, I know a lot of stuff!
None of it may never help me on one of those "standardized tests", but...

Anyway, a day is a span of time no one is wealthy enough to waste. So I think I'm going to make another attempt at raiding Bubblehead's secret stash of delicious Belgosian Dark Chocolate, although I have no idea why he thinks it's a secret stash since I know about it, and then this baby dragon is going to have some more summer fun!

Take care everybody! Have a great week, and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: SUMMER PUNNING (misc. jokes)

"It's SUMMER TIME!"
Hello Everybody! Waxy Dragon here!
We had a few days to make up because of bad weather over the winter, but Dragon School's finally out for the summer! 😄
Of course that means now I'll be spending plenty of time with my coloring books and crayons, always looking for more Belgosian Dark Chocolate, and generally getting under Bubblehead's feet and in his business.
Just because Bubblehead is my human companion, guardian, or whatever you care to call him doesn't mean he can hide all that good Dark Chocolate from me.

Hey, I'm only a baby dragon. What am I supposed to do over the summer? Get a job?
Anyway, just because I'm out of school doesn't mean I won't be telling jokes. Like...
"That's udderly ridiculous too!"

When a hospital runs out of maternity nurses, is that a MID WIFE CRISIS?

What is the fastest liquid? MILK. It is pasteurized before you see it.

One cow said to another: "My genetics prevent me from producing milk."
The other cow agreed. "Yes, you udderly lactose genes."

I wanted to watch the national origami championships, but it was strictly paper view.

When the bad poet stood before the judge, he felt that the punishment should fit the rhyme.

I saw a sign on a wall that said BILL POSTERS WILL BE PROSECUTED.
What I want to know is, why are they so sure Bill Posters isn't innocent of whatever he's being accused of?

I wish a box of pizza lasted as long as a bag of baby carrots.

And on that note♫, have a great week everybody! Stay cool and please be back here next weekend for more Sunday Funnies.
Meanwhile, I'm going to try and find where Bubblehead has hidden the Belgosian Dark Chocolate this time!😉—wd.

SUNDAY FUNNIES: MONEY MANIA

Hello Everybody. Autumn the Puppy here.

A lot has been said on the subject of money.
How to get it, what to do with it, what not to do with it, how you should pay taxes and (questionable) methods how to avoid doing so.

Money cannot buy happiness, but some say it is much nicer to be crying in a brand new Lamborghini that is about to be repossessed than in a used car that no one would even pay you the going scrap rate for.

Anyway, so what good is money?

The Beatles sing it can't buy you love, but it can rent a "companion" for the right price.

It can buy you a house, but not make it a home.

It can buy a bed, but cannot help you obtain a peaceful night's sleep.

It can buy a clock, but cannot give you more time or even make you punctual.

It can buy you a book, but not knowledge.
That you have to learn yourself, although some are seriously trying to charge for the privilege beyond a certain grade level.

It can buy you position, especially if not genuinely earned, but not respect.

It can buy you medicine, but not health.
Although there are plenty of people wanting to charge you for that too.

So in the end, what good is money?
How should I know?
This post was written by a puppy, remember???

So have a great week folks and please be back here again next weekend for more Sunday Funnies!—AtP.
