THE EASTERN SEABOARD OF THE UNITED STATES IS BRACING FOR HURRICANE SANDY. RESIDENTS ALONG THE AFFECTED AREA(S) ARE ADVISED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION.

Amongst events happening around the world this past week...
IN UNITED STATES POLITICS:
*Democratic incumbent Barack Obama faced, and according to many analysts, beat Republican hopeful Mitt Romney in the third and final Presidential debate, concerning international relations and foreign policies, Monday night. Both candidates are now on the campaign trail as the November 6 election draws near.
*Worried about voter fraud, people are starting to wonder why Mitt Romney's campaign has connection(s) to HartInterCivic, the company supplying voting machines to the state of Ohio, and why Romney's son Tagg is buying voting machines for several other key states in the upcoming election.
*Former US Senator and Presidential candidate George McGovern has passed away.

IN ITALY:
*Six scientists and 1 ex-government official have been convicted of multiple manslaughter charges and sentenced to 6 years in jail for being "falsely reassuring" about earthquakes before the 2009 L'Aquilia earthquake.
*Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was found guilty of tax fraud and faces a 4 year prison sentence.

IN SPORTS:
*The National League San Francisco Giants are 2-0 wins ahead of the American League Detroit Tigers in the best of 7, 2012 World Series in Major League Baseball.
*Former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his 7 Tour de France victories by the International Cycling Union and is now faces a lifetime ban from future events. No alternate winners of the 7 affected races will be announced, due to other competitors from those races being involved in the same drug scandal that prompted the ICU action.
