MEMORIAL DAY 2013

REMEMBERING THOSE NO LONGER WITH US
While other countries have their own versions of the event, today is MEMORIAL DAY here in the United States.

Originally this day was created to honor the soldiers (regardless of their gender or personal preferences) who gave their lives to protect this country and its citizens from all of America's enemies over the years, both foreign and domestic.

Since September 11, 2001;  the observance has officially and rightly been expanded to include all police, firefighters, and emergency personnel. People also prepared to sacrifice themselves when necessary to save others.

While enjoying the warm spring weather on picnics, various sporting events, or lured by the enticement of retailers to shop, please stop and remember those who help others without pause or consideration of their own safety.
