AMONGST EVENTS AROUND THE WORLD THIS PAST WEEK...
*Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte (the man who said it was okay for civilians to kill even suspected drug users and dealers) has announced he plans to totally cut ties with the United States and strengthen relations with China.
*The United Nations' Security Council isn't happy with North Korea's nuclear tests, even if they are failing.
*South Africa and Burundi have announced that both countries plan to withdraw from the International Criminal Court system, but the official process will take one year to complete once actually initiated.
*Pope Francis has declared 7 new saints.
*Fighting still continues in Dunbass between Ukrainian forces and those wanting the region to go back to Russian alliance.
*A series of cyber attacks against Europe and North America temporarily left Amazon, Twitter, Spotify, Reddit, PayPal, Netflix, and Airbnb unavailable to customers Friday, October 21.
*A new Nanotechnology process may help reduce CO2 content in the atmosphere by converting it into useful ethanol.
*Astronomers now suspect Uranus might have 2 more moons that previously thought.
*For the first time in decades, there have been new sightings of the Arabian Sand Cats (the only feline to live within a totally sandy environment) within the United Arab Emirates.

WITHIN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...
POLITICALLY...
*After most consider him the loser of the third and final Presidential debate, Republican hopeful Donald Trump has announced that the only way he will ever acknowledge the upcoming election results is if he is declared the winner.
*Meanwhile, because of all of Trump's repeated claims that the election is "rigged", Russia is requesting permission to send "election monitors" to the United States.
*Donald Trump also isn't happy with Alec Baldwin's portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live, but that's a personal opinion.
*On the campaign trail, Trump is promising to go after the "unfair media" and sue all the women "who are falsely accusing" him of inappropriate sexual behavior if elected President, within his first 100 days of power.
*An arsonist firebombed a Republican Party office in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The incident is still under investigation.
MEANWHILE...

*The Tennessee Valley Authority has completed construction on the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, although the facility has yet to become completely operational.

*The Simpsons celebrated its 600th episode as the longest running animated program.
*The Cleveland Indians have won the right to represent the American League in the 2016 World Series of Major League Baseball and await declaration of the National League representative as the Chicago Cubs (with a 3-2 lead in the best 4 out of 7 series) face the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 6 of their Championship playoff series Saturday night. The World Series is scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 25th.
